I have busy a little so could not provide update recently.But guess what I am back with some information to help you buy that excellent graphics card.
Today I thought of providing a comparison of yet another excellent graphics card Radeon HD 6950 with GTX 570.Lets have a look at it and find out which one is better.
I tried both the cards with few games and will be sharing my results with you.
I tried DIRT 2.The resolution was 1920*1200 with Highest Detail settings.What I noticed was that the fps for 6950 was about 30% lower than that of GTX 570.For GTX 570 it was about 95 fps and for 6950 it was about 70fps. Hence I found GTX 570 performing better in such case.
Then I tested it with Just Cause 2 with same configuration and found that again GTX 570 was stealing the show.6950 had about 10% lower fps.So as far as fps is concerned I think GTX 570 will a better option.
This was regarding the fps. If you look at the power consumption the 6950 consumes lesser power than GTX 570.Whereas GTX 570 consumed 220 watts , 6950 2 GB consumed 200 watts.
If you look at the pixel rate then GTX 570 has much better pixel rate than 6950.According to theoretical benchmark 6950 has 15% lower pixel rate than GTX 570.So that makes it a better choice over 6950.
As far as memory bandwidth is concerned both are more or less same with Radeon 6950 having a little edge over GTX 570 of about 5%. So it performs a little faster than GTX 570.
This is regarding performance.Now comes the most important part.The money!!!! While searching I found that on Amazon.com both have almost the same price with GTX 570 little costlier. Remember that prices do keep varying on Amazon so when you are reading this post than price may differ a little. Check put current price for Radeon HD 6950 here.
